MUCH WENLOCK PAINT VANDALS SOUGHT.
30-31 May Much Wenlock. Overnight, between 5pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday, a number of buildings and road signs were daubed with blue paint and marked with handprints and graffiti (some offensive.)
Constable Alan Hand, investigating, says that some of the offenders probably went home with blue paint on their hands, clothes and shoes. Much Wenlock’s local policing team asks for help to identify those involved. Contact the police or use the Crimestoppers line to give information. (Crimestoppers is an independent charity which can pass information to the police without revealing its source.)

BE ALERT FOR THE OPPORTUNIST THIEF.
Crime is still comparatively low but across the Force area some avoidable acquisitive crimes are being reported. Sometimes the passing sneak-in burglar is looking for doors and windows left open in the warmer weather with valuable items left conveniently on view or in easy reach while family members are in the garden or elsewhere in the house. Unlocked garden sheds are being targeted for gardening equipment, satellite navigation systems in unattended cars continue to attract unwanted attention and vulnerable purses are being snatched from shopping trolleys and shopping bags. And in some other force areas bogus officials and distraction burglars are actively preying on older residents. Get advice from your local police or from Neighbourhood Watch sources (a new Shropshire NW clerk will soon be available to answer queries and send you appropriate advisory leaflets;) and encourage neighbours to take simple precautions to reduce the risk of losing property to the thief.
Also, keep a watch for items being offered for sale under suspicious circumstances.
