The Final Word?

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Here I am back off my holidays to a email box bursting at the seams!!

The Forum has been buzzing with speculation about the Broseley Clock fund.

Here is a email from Cllr Carol Cooper:

The clock on the Victoria Hall was financed by the now defunct Clock
Committee and the present Victoria Hall Management Committee, in
memory of Roy Lane. There is a plaque underneath the clock to that
effect. There was publicity in the Bridgnorth Journal and front page
of the Shropshire Star last Nov/Dec when the clock was installed. The
Lane family were fully informed all along about the project. The
alleged original clock from the Old Town Hall is still in safe
storage. Every penny that was spent is accounted for.

Cancer Research

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

Tanya writes from the FORUM…

A friend and I are arranging a loveley summer event in Ironbridge on 13th July to raise money for breast cancer/cancer Uk and were wondering if any of your readers could offer anything to help with our event. We have a live singer but are still looking for someone to do a disco for a couple of hours. Also if any of the local businesses would like to donate a prize for the raffle it would be much appreciated! We anticipate some local press coverage of the night and have already got a great photographer on board to do the official photography.
We are also hoping to get a local dignatory to open the event for us - so if any one is reading this and think they fit the bill they could get in touch with me!!!
I hope nobody minds me posting this begging letter on the website, but if you don’t ask you don’t get and I think we would all agree that Cancer Research is a very worthy cause! If you feel you can help please contact me via my email address which is lewishutch@btinternet.com
Thank you so much! Tanya.

David Smith anyone?

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Hello there,
My name is Archana and I am staying in Broseley and working at the
Ironbridge Power Station. One day one respectable old man offered me
a lift while walking up the hill towards my house. I accepted it. By
mistake I dropped my phone in his car. Well during the small
conversation he just mentioned his name as David Smith. Hence I
couldn’t get hold of him. Can you please help me to find my phone by
advertising this on your website. He has got small green car.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Archana Gawde.

email me if you can help james@broseleyonline.co.uk
