Neighbourhood Watch

A message from C.S.O Goddard: You have probably heard of Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) but may not know that in Broseley we do not have as many schemes running as we would like.

We are after volunteers to run NHW schemes in Broseley and to act as coordinators. The NHW scheme is an effective local system of looking after your neighbours and having them look after you. The basics of the scheme are that you talk to a group of your neighbours, up to about a dozen or so, and get their agreement to set up a NHW scheme in your area. Once you have a group of neighbours in your scheme you need to contact me and I will put you in touch with the NHW area coordinator.

Once you are set up and established you will get a newsletter once every couple of weeks, this you can email or post to the rest of your group, or just take out the relevant parts and pass them on by word of mouth, it’s up to you how you run your scheme. You should also let the people in your scheme know to use you as a point of contact for relaying any information about suspicious activity or people in your area, we can then investigate. Obviously they should contact the Police direct if it is a serious incident.

Does this sound like something you would like to help with? It will help us, the Police, but more importantly it will help to increase your sense of community and hopefully will improve your safety in Broseley.

If anyone is interested, please contact me.
