An exhibition called “Picturing Our World” is being displayed in Broseley library right now and will be there until the end of February. It will go county-wide later in the year.
“Picturing Our World” is a project set up by Bridges, a Shropshire-based educational organisation which aims to support an understanding of the world and communities in which we live, and for each partner to find out about life from the other’s point of view.
Broseley C of E Primary School (known as Dark Lane School) is involved with this project and has chosen Conakry Refugee School as its partner, to take photographs about each other’s lives both at school and within their community. The schools have been connected with each other since 2006 via both fundraising and a pen-friend scheme. Conakry Refugee School was delighted to take part but had no camera! Dark Lane’s Year 5 pupils came to the rescue, organising a fundraising event and providing sufficient money for CRS to buy a camera.
